I have received my PhD Degree in Surface Science at the University of Liverpool (Leverhulme Centre for Innovative Catalysis) in England (United Kingdown) under supervision of Prof. Raval. Subsequently, I had completed my Post-Doctorate stage at Laboratoire de Physico-Chimie des Surfaces, ENSCP (Ecole Nationale Superieure de Chimie of Paris) in France under supervision Prof. Pradier. From 2003 I worked as Scientist Researcher at Centro de Astrobiologia, INTA (Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aeroespacial) in Madrid (Spain). I have supervised developed, designed and set-up the Spectroscopies and Microscopies on Surfaces chamber (SMS) (ultra-high vacuum system) which include surface science analysis techniques (XPS, STM, LEED, UPS, Auger, TPD), and the Planetary Atmospheres Simulation Chamber (PASC) which include ultraviolet and infrared spectroscopies techniques for the analysis of chemical processes under different environment conditions.

My main scientific research has been on the study of interaction of bio-molecules (amino acids, chiral precursor and nucleic acids) on different surfaces (metallic and mineral). I am an expert in surface science, ultra-high vacuum systems and spectroscopies for surface studies as: infrared spectroscopy (RAIRS), X-ray photoemission spectroscopy (XPS), scanning tunnelling microscopy (STM), low energy electron diffraction (LEED), temperature programmed desorption (TPD), Auger etc. I have experience on synchrotron facilities:  Daresbury (UK) developing a fast transfer system between electrochemical processes to ultra-high vacuum chamber, Brookhaven (USA) studies using far-infrared spectroscopy, Trieste (Italia) studies using diffraction and photoemission spectroscopies and P.I of successful proposal 2016 to NAP-XPS to ALBA (Spain)

Actually, my research area includes study interaction of biomolecules on mineral and metallic surfaces (chirality, molecular reactivity and self-assembly) and its stability due to different environments. I am a co-author of more than 45 research articles in a wide range of international journals and three patents. From 2010, I am PI of the financial support projects of our research group, PhD supervisor of a 1 Thesis and 3 formation students (2 year each).
