El Dr. Felipe Gómez es científico senior del CAB. Su labor investigadora se centra en el estudio de entornos extremos, límites de vida y, por extrapolación, desarrollo del potencial de habitabilidad en entornos adversos. Participa en misiones espaciales de exploración de Marte para buscar rastros de vida y estudiar el potencial de habitabilidad del planeta rojo. Actualmente forma parte del equipo científico (Co-Investigador) del instrumento Rover Environmental Monitoring Station (REMS) a bordo del rover Curiosity-MSL de la NASA que está estudiando la superficie de Marte en este momento. El Dr. Felipe Gómez es Co-I del instrumento MEDA que está a bordo de la misión Mars2020 de la NASA a Marte.

NASA – Mars exploration space missions. Dr. Felipe Gomez is currently part of the scientific team of the Rover Environmental Monitoring Station (REMS) instrument aboard the NASA Curiosity-MSL rover that is studying the surface of Mars and of MEDA instrument that will be onboard Mars2020 NASA mission to Mars.
REPSOL – A collaboration has been initiated with the Spanish oil company Repsol to study the degradation of recalcitrant products.
